The Best Gifts Aren't Things, They Are Memories

I never wanted to be that person that focused on Christmas before Halloween was even over, but I recently saw a reminder that kind of made me stress out a little bit. Don't panic, but after tomorrow, there are only 8 Fridays left until Christmas!

How many times have you spent countless hours searching, running around, and spending a small fortune to find just the right gift only to have it be opened on Christmas morning and then forgotten 5 minutes later? Every year when I am exhausted and deflated after this happens, I resolve that I won't do that again for the next Christmas. Truly, the best years have been the times when I have given the gift of travel to my family. The excitement of opening an adventure and the anticipation until it happens are priceless. Plus, we end up having memories and the gift of spending quality time together as we explore and enjoy our destinations together. I love when my family gets together and starts reminiscing about adventures we went on. My favorite is when a conversation begins with, "Remember when....." Remember when we got to see the Space Shuttle lift off while we were at Port Canaveral on the Disney Wonder Cruise waiting to depart? Remember when they paused everything at Disneyland so we could watch the Space Shuttle Endeavor fly over slowly on the back of a 747? Remember when Mom could barely walk after Alex took her for a ride on the Tea Cups? Remember, remember, remember...... it is the best! We end up laughing, reminiscing and reliving the magical memories we had together. A lot of them have been with Disney.

You can give a gift of an adventure, or even better....what better way to kick off the holidays with a little pixie dust by planning a Disney trip for your whole family at the most magical place on earth during the holidays. That way, the work is done and you can actually enjoy making cookies, seeing the lights and focusing on the real meaning of Christmas.

You can also celebrate the holidays at the Disneyland Resort. It is decorated with millions of lights, wreaths and holiday decor that transforms each land, including the 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street. Many attractions are decorated as well. It's A Small World is covered in twinkling lights, and the Haunted Mansion is completely transformed. It is also a great opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself! He visits the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park and at the Fantasyland Theatre in the Disneyland Park. you can also visit him in the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort— November 28 to December 24, 2024.  Santa can be found at the Pixar Place Hotel in the main lobby. In the Great Hall at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as well as in the main lobby at the Disneyland Hotel.
